surprise shower for bebe bung!

Ok.. so we have the best group of mama’s ever! =) They decided to throw bebe Bung a baby shower… even though we really didn’t need anything! We are so utterly spoilt by our friends. Thank you to the Lee’s, the Jardin’s, the Singh’s, the Ling’s and the Ng’s for celebrating with us, and an extra Thank you to Candy, Rich, Audrey and Pepper for hosting us! I had NO idea! Even my mom and Felix managed to keep this secret… you have no idea how bad those two are! Thank you!

Felix captured some pretty awesome shots … so of course now that I am on vacation and have some time… just had to share. =)

PS Pammy, I thought it was sooo odd that you just decided to cancel dim sum even though I knew Jaime, Karin, and Andrea could make it!!! =P So not in character!

Victoria Day Weekend

Mama and Baba really wanted to spend some quality time with me before bebe Bung comes, so when they heard that Uncle Harry and Auntie Bonstance were going to the cottage, mama literally invited herself up to the cottage even though there was the OFF CHANCE that she could go into labor… (Thankfully, we had no such mishaps, but in the event that we did… Uncle Harry would have to deliver bebe Bung! ) I loved the cottage…. I kept wanting to dip my feet in the lake, I loved playing with Avery and feeding the ducks. I even had my own bed at the cottage, and didn’t want mama and baba to sleep with me. Mama and Baba got some much needed rest, and actually got to put their feet up and relax!  (Mama’s been in super nesting mode to get the house ready, so she has long lists for Baba… poor baba!)

for some reason, I feel like mama’s always gets the shaft for pictures… there are like a million pics of me and my baba, but just a handful with my mama and me… but I guess maybe it’s just that my dad is more photogenic! same goes with my god sister avery! we have tonnes of pics of her and her baba… but I guess it’s always the mama’s holding the camera:

Baby Bung and Mama are doing fine… but Mama is moving slower and slower… she can barely keep up with me cause I LOVE to run! Lets hope for a quick and painless delivery. Stay tuned! Mama is just relieved she is on vacation now!

Elmo

Keira LOVES Elmo! =)  So it was super generous and fitting that Auntie Leslie would treat KK to see Elmo at the Roger’s center.
She was literally in toddler heaven!  She was sooooo happy, and was clapping her hands sooo hard and singing along to the songs that she knew.
Felix on the other hand was a little less entertained, but he was just as happy to watch his daughter watch the show!

Also today is Auntie Leslie’s birthday! Happy Birthday to one of my longest readers!!! =) Even though she is an auntie of a niece and a nephew… she still has a sweet spot for me! Thanks for treating me to see ELMO!!!!

3 little monkeys jumping on the bed…

Keira LOVES the rhyme three little monkeys… and recently we had a play date with her gal pals. Of course they all wanted to JUMP in Madison’s crib! With our hectic weekends, it’s been hard to schedule play dates with her BFF but when we do… they have so much fun! Looking fwd to this summer with the girls… that is if Felix and I figure out how to do it with 2 kids! =)

Dau Dauism -26 months

Keira is talks literally non stop now… Felix and I keep saying we need to write down her phrases cause she just stuns us with what she says and we’ll be like where did you learn that… here is a snippet of what I remember!
(Which BTW is not a lot… I definitely have baby brain these days… and Felix said he has to be my keeper… I can’t keep track of things for the life of me,)

- When she wants me to open my arms to hold her… she’ll say ” Open the door,” ( Hau Moon) in Chinese. Sooo cute. She doesn’t know the right phrase and is substituting! Loving that she has deductive thinking!
- She says her Baba is “Too big to fit in the bed, and that he is ” Mmm Nam Cherk.” I think it will be lost in translation, but again same concept!
- She keep squeezing my nose, and saying something about my nose being flat!
- The other day she asked me to tell her a story about a duck and a mouse. I was sooo flabbergasted… cause I don’t know any stories about ducks and mice! I thought it might be one Felix told her on the fly, or something she heard at school. It was actually the book I had just read her, and she wanted me to retell her when we turned off the lights!
- She’s been really good about sleeping in her own bed! She loves her new room, and I am sooo happy we … (Felix) got our butts in action and involved her in the furnishing/decorating process. I think she really feels like it’s her own space!
- We went recently to an Indian wedding, and Keira was in awe! I mean literally… she was clapping her hands like crazy and yelling at the top of her lungs… “PRINCESS!” Our friends Sumit and Rupa got married, and Rupa happened to look like Princess Jasmine. Felix even managed to borrow a Lenhga (sp?!) for Keira, and she thought she was a princess too! How can I not continue to work… we have to bring her to Disney one day!!! Congrats to Sumit and Rupa for a beautiful wedding! We LOVED it!

Baby Bung-ism’s – 8 1/2 months
- Bebe Bung is growing well… still on the small side on the 30th percentile, but growing steadily! We are so thankful that bebe is doing well, and even though I have been having a lot of Braxton Hicks contractions. Felix was telling bebe Bung yesterday… “I’m not ready yet! Stay inside!” We need more time!”
- This baby is definitely a LOT more active than Keira in vitro. You can actually see my stomach moving vigorously. Looks like I have a pretty fiery dragon in there. I have a feeling that this one is going to be even more active than Keira if that is even possible. Felix has nicknamed him/her Fung Zombie after the UFC fighter!
- This pregnancy is definitely a LOT harder! I guess it doesn’t help I have an active toddler… but washing dishes, vacuuming, doing normal day to day chores has been getting more and more difficult. Thankfully my husband has really really picked up the slack, and been doing everything that I have been asking! Advice to my mama’s who are in the early stages of pregnancy or planning another one… don’t be like me and not prioritize exercise… maybe that’s why this time I have such issues with tailbone pain, and just not being able to sit, or stand or walk!
- Feeling more and more like an Orangutan every day! (My mama’s know what I am talking about.)

K+K+K

I know there has been a drought lately, but we’ve been on Operation Bebe mode… Felix has been amazing at getting my 10 gazillion things done, cause I am not exactly mobile, and KK has started to train as big sister! (PS Still in her big girl bed!!!!) 2 more weeks of work… and hopefully bebe doesn’t come early, and I can sort through our pics and post some updates.

In the meantime, here is some pics of KK with Kau Kau and Kelly! She LOVES Kelly! I think sometimes Kau Kau gets  jealous!

when we did our photoshoot a couple weeks, keira decided to do a performance for us! =)

Dau Dau – ism’s at 2 – Some of my favorite moments with KK Bung:
- When Keira insists on licking the yoghurt wrapper but not eat the yoghurt.
- That she thinks that vitamins are a treat!
- That she high 5′s you and says YEA! when she pees in the toilet.
- That she knows what a cupcake is… and knows when you’re talking about one.
- That she has a sense of pride of sleeping in her big girl bed. (Over one month baby!!!)
- That she asks to be carried when we’re walking in the parking lot and her justification is that “there are cars, Boom Boom!”
- That she remembers who bought her what.. ie toys, clothes, books etc.
- That she knows to put her dirty clothes in the hamper and says “dirty clothes!”
- That after put the dirty clothes in the washer, that she thinks the clothes will be done in 2 mins, and can be moved to the dryer.
- That she loves story time with her Baba!
- That she can alter lyrics to include you.. Ie Skinnermerink ka doo, I love mama!
- That she can still get her dad to have melty face in a second.
- That she JUMPS into the water when we have swim classes.
- That after swim class, she will hold hands with Audrey and walk out together!
-  That she loves to blow out other people’s birthday candles.
- That when you play hide the easter eggs, and she’ll help you find them, even though she is the one that hid them!
- That she calls Milk ” Nilk!”
- That she speaks mostly in Chinese, but when you ask her what a certain thing is in English, she typically knows the word.
- That she has got the Chinese colloquialisms of La, Ma down pat!
- That when you read books that require empathy, ie a cat got his head stuck in a jard, she actually looks like she wants to cry, and won’t let us read the book anymore.
- Then when you ask her where she wants to go when you play pretend car, she says “Ontario Science Center.”
- When she plays Doctor, she calls it Doctor Baker, after her doctor.
- That she knows how to get her dad to let her watch TV, by asking for hockey.
- That she loves to play pretend with he Baba, ie driving a car, where she puts a seat belt on all the passengers, or standing on cushions cause there are pretend crabs on the floor.
- That she will yell out in the morning “Mama” from her room and she expects you to come and help get ready for school.
- That in the morning it’s Baba and Keira time, and they just cuddle for a 10 minutes right after she wakes up… cutest thing EVER! This is WHY I am a mom!
- That she wakes up screaming from bad dreams, and when asked what her bad dream is it’s that someone took her ice cream!

Happy Birthday to Auntie Eva. My mama really wanted to come to your birthday bash… but her big belly is kind of more of a hindrance then an asset at this point! Plus… her bedtime these days are 10pm!

Happy Birthday also to my Auntie Eli… new mama extraordinaire and career woman! My mama wishes that I will be as ambitious and successful like you! I will also ONE day be a VP! =)

Last but not least Happy Birthday to my BFF Jaylee! I have known you all my life… and I will always know we have a special bond. It’s the Toishan connection!

I don’t really remember my dad ever cutting any of mine or my siblings toenails… and Dad if you did, then good for you! But Felix is pretty hands on, and doesn’t balk at doing anything for his daughter! I just had to catch this sweet moment, after her bath and before storytime!
